ACTIVE PROJECTS:

CURRENT PROJECTS:

  • Capen Auditorium Renovation: This project will provide for life/safety improvements, repainting of the assembly space, modifications to the stage, replacement of the seats, replacement of carpet and acoustical curtains, replacement of window panels, and improved technology.
    Gorski Reifsteck was approved as A/E. Orientation meeting to be held on May 24, 2012.
  • Felmley Hall Steam Conversion:
    KJWW was approved as A/E. Orientation meeting to be held on May 24, 2012.
  • Fine Arts Complex: Construction of new facilities to house the College of Fine Arts; demolition of Centennial West and Center for the Visual Arts buildings.
  • State funds of $54.3 million appropriated, but not yet released.
  • Hancock Stadium Renovation: Construct a new east-side grandstand with brick columns and glass walls to provide a more attractive and inviting presence on Main Street. The project also provides outdoor terrace spaces, suite and club seating and improved concession areas and restrooms.
    BDMD was selected as a designer for the project. Project is anticipated to be out for bid the week of May 14, 2012.

  • Heating Plant Reroofing: This project provides for the replacement of the roof of the Heating Plant.

    Allied Design was selected as a designer for the project. Bids were opened and the apparent low bidder was Adler Roofing. The contracts are in process.

  • Hovey Hall - First Floor Renovation and abatement project: The $3.3 million Hovey first floor renovation is in the design stage.
    Project documents are in review in Purchasing. Construction for Hovey first floor renovation is anticipated to begin in mid-May of 2012. The abatement portion for Hovey first floor is anticipated to be completed the week of May 14, 2012.
  • Hovey Hall - Column Repair/Vestibule project: The budget for the exterior column repair and updated east entrance to Hovey project is $1.2 million.
    The pre-construction meeting was held on March 22, 2012. The project commenced on May 14, 2012 to set up fencing, demolish existing column covers, and remove concrete walk.
  • Hovey Hall - Plumbing Repair: The $500K plumbing work for Hovey is in the design stage.

    McDonough-Whitlow Engineers are the designers for the project. Project manager will be coordinating abatement and first floor renovation work. Bid opening was held on April 27, 2012 and contracts are in process.

  • John Green Food Service - Culinary Innovation Center:
    Create a new Culinary Innovation Center to address the need for a bakery and provide additional functionality to allow Campus Dining to produce foods. Project also involves renovation of building envelope, addresses building accessibility, and areas currently used by Telecommunications, Enterprise System Support, and Facilities Management.

    The project is in the design stage. We have received the Design development drawings and the review process is underway. Project will be scheduled to sequence with other University initiatives.

  • Linkins Dining Center - Air Handling Unit Replacement: Replace air handling units and air conditioning units.
  • The project documents are in review at Purchasing.
  • Milner Library Electrical Distribution: This work addresses reliability issue; it needs to be done prior to the Library renovation project proposed as part of the state Capital Budget request.
    This is a Capital Development Board project. Stanley Consultants have been selected as Architect/Engineer. Pre-construction meeting was held on March 14, 2012. The contractor is working on mobilizing and preparing work. The switchgear has been ordered.
  • Schroeder Hall-Phase II Enhancement: Additional exterior and interior enhancements to the facility.
    Clark Dietz, Inc. was selected as designer. A kick off meeting was held on February 10, 2012 and the attendees included representative of Capital Development Boards, A/E, and ISU. A tentative schedule for construction (January-July 2013) was submitted. Design development drawings review has been completed. A review meeting is scheduled for August 17, 2012.
  • Softball Complex: DLR Group was selected as designer for the project. Design and estimate are being reviewed.
  • U-High/ Horton/Fairchild Switchgear: To replace of the electrical sub-stations/ switchgear in University High School, Fairchild, and Horton Fieldhouse. Running new service conduits and feeders as well as replacing all electrical service distribution panels and their feeders.
    BBA Engineers are the designers for the U-high switchgear. BRC Engineers are the designers for the Horton/Fairchild switchgear. Both projects documents are in review at Purchasing.

  • Warehouse Road Complex: Replace entire roof on Building #1: Replace entire roof on Building #1

    INSPEC has been selected as Architect/Engineer. Documents for roofing design for building number one at Warehouse Road Complex are at Purchasing for review. The pre-bid meeting was held on April 19, 2012 and the bid opening was set for May 3, 2012.

    Watterson Commons - Replacement of Roof, Windows, and Emergency Exits: Replace roofing, windows and emergency exit doors.
    Bids have been opened for the roof replacement project. Low bidder appears to be Elens and Maichen Roofing. Contracts have been posted with PPB. Pre-construction meeting has been held on March 13, 2012. Roof replacement work has begun and work is progressing. All ballast on the existing roof has been removed. Approximately 60% of the upper roof work has been completed with the exception of detailing.
    The 100% documents for the window portion have been received and were sent to Purchasing on December 16, 2011. The window portion work was scheduled to be bid this fall and the installation is expected to commence in summer of 2013.
