The steam distribution system for the ISU campus requires periodic maintenance to run reliably and efficiently. Some of this required maintenance requires that the full system be shut down. This year’s outage is planned for 24/48 hours on Sunday, 5/11/25 and Monday, 5/12/25 (starting late Saturday night, 5/10/25 and ending at no later than midnight on Monday, 5/12/25). We will plan to be back in full operation at midnight on Monday 5/12/25 but this could be delayed somewhat if we run into unforeseen issues during our repairs.

Items affected by this outage include the following:

· Cooking equipment using steam

· Domestic hot water in all but a few small areas (water will still come out of the faucets – it just will not be hot)

· Swimming pool heaters

· Heating and air conditioning reheat systems in most buildings

Reheat systems provide for individual room temperature control so when these are out of service there will be some rooms several degrees colder than their temperature set point while other rooms will likely be warmer than their set point.

· Dye pots used for dying costumes at Centennial East

· Science equipment including the cage washer and some sterilization equipment
