National Pan-Hellenic Council Plaza | Facilities

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Plaza is being built to educate the campus community and visitors to Illinois State about the importance and impact of the nine historically Black fraternities and sororities, known as the Divine Nine. The NPHC is the national Greek organization that governs those groups. The plaza will have nine pillars (one for each organization), bench seating, landscaping, lighting, and a donor wall.

Timeline: Construction is scheduled to begin during Homecoming Week 2026 with substantial completion expected by summer 2027.
Cost: Not to exceed $1 million
Location: Between Hovey Hall and the Old Union Building
