Grounds Services provides daily services that play a critical role in the upkeep, safety and appearance of Illinois State University's 490 acre campus. Grounds dedicates itself to the exterior maintenance of turf, parking lots, sidewalks, display gardens, and both administrative and academic buildings.
As a registered arboretum, Grounds Services prides itself in the establishment of 5,000 trees of over 154 species which serve as a living laboratory to the campus community as well as to the general public. To learn more about our Tree Campus USA designation, visit the Fell Arboretum website.
Grounds is a steward of sustaining the campus and community environment of Illinois State University. Over the past several years, several projects have been implemented that not only benefit the environment but are also examples to other universities and communities of environmental stewardship.
